About Tacoma Art Place

What We’re All About

Tacoma Art Place (TAP) is a non-profit art center (with 501c3 charitable status) in the heart of the revitalized MLK neighborhood. Our mission is to provide access to equipment and training that will allow more people to affordably explore their creativity and artistic ability. We have a special emphasis to reach underserved individuals with free or reduced-cost memberships and to offer arts education in the community. Buy an annual membership today, or give a friend the gift of a membership or Day Pass. Individuals and businesses can support our mission by donating equipment or funds.

Partnering in the Community

If you’re with an organization that is interested in partnering with Tacoma Art Place, please let us know! We try to accomodate as many requests for bringing programming into the community as possible and host groups at our facility. Also, if you’d like someone to speak to your organization or have presence from TAP at a festival or other event, please let us know that too. Requests for Programs & Outreach may be sent to programs@TacomaArtPlace.org.

TAP Gallery Curator

TAP Gallery shows are coordinated by a curator. Artists interested in gallery showings may contact us via e-mail at curator@TacomaArtPlace.org. All shows open on Artwalk nights (third Thursday of each month), but run times and reception dates may vary. Please note that there is an extremely long list of artists inquiring about shows, and preference is given to volunteers and members, those willing to participate in group shows, and exceptionally local artists.
